My throwing aside the grave-clothes, and My stepping out into that sunlit Garden on Easter Morn were symbolic of the freedom I had bought for My children, and which they would know in Me. Are you seeking to bind the grave-clothes round Me? When you recognize a man's sins you must go further always and see him as free, the grave-clothes of sin and limitation cast aside; the stone, that shut out his Vision of Love and God, rolled away; he, a risen man, walking in My Strength, and conquering in My Power. - from "God at Eventide", edited by A. J. Russell (Chris Lack) ~~~~~~~ THIS & THAT: THINGS CHILDREN SAY & DO: A little boy wanted a taste of molasses from the large barrel by the door of an old-fashioned country store. He slid a box beside the barrel, stepped up on it and leaned over the rim as far as possible, stretching out his finger toward the sweet goo below. He stretched and strained and toppled head-first into the barrel. Dripping with molasses, he stood up, lifted his eyes heaven-ward and was heard to utter, "Lord, help me to make the most of this fantastic opportunity!" As he was coming down the aisle he would take two steps, stop, and turn to the crowd alternating between bride's side and groom's side). While facing the crowd, he would put his hands up like claws and roar . . . so it went, step, step, ROAR, step, step, ROAR all the way down the aisle. As you can imagine, the crowd was near tears from laughing by the time he reached the pulpit. The little boy, however, was getting more and more distressed from all the laughing, And was also near tears by the time he reached the pulpit. When asked what he was doing, the child sniffed and said, "I was being the Ring Bear . . ." (Jean Nunez) ~~~~~~ A little boy was taken to the dentist. It was discovered that he had a cavity that would have to be filled. "Now, young man," asked the dentist, "what kind of filling would you like for that tooth?" She called on him and said, "Johnny! What are 2 and 4 and 28 and 44?" Johnny quickly replied, . "CBS, NBC, HBO and the Cartoon Network." Unfortunately, the locals had a habit of picking on strangers, which he was. When he finished eating, he found his horse had been stolen. He goes back into the building, handily flips his gun into the air, catches it above his head without looking and fires a shot into the ceiling. "WHICH ONE OF YOU SIDEWINDERS STOLE MY HOSS?" he yelled. No one answered. "ALRIGHT, I'M GONNA HAVE A DRINK, AND IF MY HOSS AIN'T BACK OUTSIDE BY THE TIME I FINISH, I'M GONNA DO WHAT I DUN IN TEXAS! AND I DON'T LIKE TO HAVE TO DO WHAT I DUN IN TEXAS!" Some of the locals shifted restlessly. He had his drink, walked outside, and his horse was back! He saddles up. A cowboy follows him out and asks, "Say partner, before you go . . . what happened in Texas?" The cowboy turned back and said, "I had to walk home."
