~~~~~~~ THOUGHTS:
Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power. - Abraham Lincoln
~~~~~~~ SPECIAL THOUGHTS:

~~~~~~~ THIS & THAT:
THINGS CHILDREN SAY & DO:
When my son was in preschool and one of the students became ill with chicken pox, the teacher asked if anyone else had ever had chicken pox.
He raised his hand and said, "No, but I've had Cocoa Pops."
When my oldest daughter was about six years old, she and I were having a discussion about my work. It seems she wasn't too happy with my chosen profession. She wanted me to leave the ministry. "I like you as a preacher," she explained. "I jut really wish you sold snow cones." - Max Lucado
A pastor was giving a lesson to a group of children on the 23rd Psalm. He noticed that one of the little boys seemed disquieted by the phrase "Surely, goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life..."
"What's wrong with that, Johnny?" the pastor asked.
"Well," answered Johnny, "I understand about having goodness and mercy, for God is good. But I'm not sure I'd like Shirley following me around all the time."
My youngest child was thrilled when her turn came to enter kindergarten. To make sure that we had plenty of time to eat breakfast and get ready on the first day, I woke everybody early, so early that it was still dark.
I was dressing when my little daughter came into my room looking troubled.
"What's wrong?" I asked, mustering as much cheerfulness as I could at that hour.
She blurted, "You didn't tell me I was going to night school!"
~~~~~~~ KEEP SMILING:

We had made some changes in our lives. My husband had lost 50 pounds and after eight years of being a housewife, I had taken a job in a restaurant. When I returned home after my first day at work, I gave my husband a big hug. He seemed to cling to me longer than usual.
"Did you really miss me that much today, dear?" I asked.

"No," came the reply. "But you smell so much like pancakes that I hate to let you go."

~~~~~~~ TRIVIA:
What do Julia Roberts, Michael J. Fox, Tiger Woods, Bill Gates and Jimmy Carter have in common? They're the public figures considered most deserving of a toast this year, according to a national survey commissioned by Waterford Crystal.
More than 1,000 adults were questioned by telephone for the poll, which was conducted by Opinion Research Corporation International of Princeton, N.J. Participants were asked who best epitomizes five universal toasting themes -- love, health, happiness, prosperity and peace.
