~~~~~~~ THOUGHTS:
How delightful is the company of generous people, who overlook trifles and keep their minds instinctively fixed on what ever is good and positive in the world about them. - Van Wyck Brooks
~~~~~~~ THIS & THAT:

TAKE IT FROM THE LABELS
CNN Online - January 17, 2001

DETROIT (AP) -- Be warned: "Shin pads cannot protect any part of the body they do not cover."

That label on a pair of shin guards beat out nearly 100 competitors Wednesday to win the Michigan Lawsuit Abuse Watch's Wacky Warning Labels contest.

Runners-up included:

A label affixed to a toilet inside a public restroom: "Recycled flush water unsafe for drinking."

"Warning: Riders of personal watercraft may suffer injury due to forceful injection of water into body cavities either by falling into the water or while mounting the craft."

A warning on an electric router: "This product not intended for use as a dental drill."

A warning on a novelty rock garden set (called "Popcorn Rock"): "Eating rocks may lead to broken teeth!"

~~~~~~~ KEEP SMILING:
A man from the big city was driving out to Vermont to visit an old friend. Hopelessly lost, he pulled his sports coupe up to a group of men sitting out in front of a small country store to get directions.
Leaning out of the car's window, he said, "I want to go to Bennington."
There was silence. Then one of the men slowly took his pipe out of his mouth and replied, "We have no objections."
~~~~~~~ TRIVIA:

Where's the world's largest pyramid?

No, it's not there, not even close to there. It's on the other side of the earth, in Cholula de Rivadabia, Mexico. That was on the tip of your tongue, right? This pyramid, topping out at 177 feet and covering 45 acres, is dedicated to the Aztec deity, Quetzalcoatl.

Cholula could run circles – well, maybe triangles – around Egypt's Great Pyramid of Cheops, which reaches no higher than 130 feet [correction below] and accounts for a mere 13 acres.

As of this writing, neither pyramid contains a MacDonald's or Burger King.

CORRECTION TO THE ABOVE:

The great pyramid of Egypt, Cheops, is 482 feet, not 130 feet tall. Using the correct figures one could calculate the volume of the two pyramids as follows:

Cheops has a volume of 90,982,320 cu. ft.
[(482 x 566,280) / 3]

Cholula has a volume of 115,651,800 cu. ft.
[(177 x 1,960,200) / 3]

By volume the Mexican Cholula would be considered the largest pyramid.
