Being deathly afraid of snakes, the woman promptly ran to the bathroom to get her husband, who was taking a shower. He came running from the shower with only a towel around his waist, grabbed an old broom handle from the closet, and began poking under the couch. At this point, the sleeping family dog awoke. Curious to see what was happening, he came up behind the husband and touched his cold nose to the back of the man's heel. The man, surmising that the snake had outmaneuvered him and had bitten him on the heel, fainted dead away. The wife concluded that her husband had over exerted and collapsed with a heart attack. She ran from the house to a hospital just one block away. The ambulance drivers promptly returned with her to the house and placed the man on a stretcher. As they were carrying him out of the house, the snake reappeared from beneath the couch. One of the drivers became so excited that he dropped his end of the stretcher and broke the husband's leg. Seeing her husband's twisted leg, the wife collapsed. Meanwhile, the snake slithered quietly away! He used the "Twelve Days of Christmas" to make a point and said that a boy was so much in love with his girlfriend that he gave her a present 12 days in a row. The pastor really involved the children in this story by asking them what the gifts were day by day. They were doing quite well until they reached the eleventh day. There was a long pause, and finally one young boy raised his hand and gave the answer: "Eleven pastors preaching!" There are so many variables, like convenience to public transportation, air quality, car park, size, etc. In general, Hongkong apartments are small and expensive, even after prices dropped significantly due to the Asian economic downturn nearly 3 years ago. Prices on an 800 - 1200-square-foot apartment can range from $1000 to $4000 USD per month depending upon the above factors. Space is such a premium in Hongkong as it is one third the size of the US's smallest state, Rhode Island, but has close to seven million people.
