~~~~~~~ THOUGHTS:
"You can stand tall without standing on someone. You can be a victor without having victims." - Harriet Wood
~~~~~~~ SPECIAL THOUGHTS:

In 1957 we were visiting my father's very elderly aunt and uncle. We went out on the porch to watch Sputnik speed by. I asked Aunt Dot what she thought of it and she said she didn't know what to think of it. Her father fought at Gettysburg. He thought General George Armstrong Custer was a martyr and had been a good general in the Civil War. They had a picture of him in the house. She grew up in a two story log house and had a widowed grandmother and mother to care for as well as lots of little brothers and sisters to help raise. She ran a 40 acre farm, kept cows, shot foxes that got her chickens, etc. She taught Sunday School to children. She lived through the Spanish American War, two world wars, the Great Depression, etc. She had what Indiana called a "Common School" education which was based on the McGuffey Readers. She took life's challenges in stride. We think we have seen a lot of turmoil and change and moan our inability to make sense of it all. We can learn a lesson from Aunt Dot. Do what needs done at hand and we don't have to solve all the problems of the world.

~~~~~~~ THIS & THAT:
Here are error messages reportedly seen on the computer screens in Japan, where some are written in Haiku. These are better than "your computer has performed an illegal operation."
The Web site you seek cannot be located, but countless more exist.
Chaos reigns within. Reflect, repent, and reboot. Order shall return.
Program aborting: Close all that you have worked on. You ask far too much.
Windows 98 or NT crashed. I am the Blue Screen of Death. No one hears your screams.
Yesterday it worked. Today it is not working. Windows is like that.
Your file was so big. It might be very useful, but now it is gone.
Stay the patient course. Of little worth is your ire. The network is down.
A crash reduces your expensive computer to a simple stone.
Three things are certain: Death, taxes and lost data. Guess which has occurred?
You step in the stream, but the water has moved on. This page is not here.
Out of memory. We wish to hold the whole sky, but we never will.
Having been erased, the document you're seeking must now be retyped.
Serious error. All shortcuts have disappeared.
Screen. Mind. Memory. All are blank.
~~~~~~~ KEEP SMILING:

One afternoon we lost the use of the phone system in our corporate offices. An announcement informed us that a work crew had accidentally cut the telecommunications lines while digging a hole for a new sign pole. Leaving at the end of the day, we were surprised to see what the sign said: "Dig with caution - buried communication cables below."

~~~~~~~ TRIVIA:
Virtual P.I.
There are all kinds of sites on the Internet that promise that they will help you find someone or track down something--for a fee, of course. But if you have the time, you might be able to uncover the information yourself.
This site has links to county court records, resources for child support enforcement, places to search criminal histories, and inmate searches and more.
