~~~~~~~ THOUGHTS:
Don't pray when it rains if you don't pray when the sun shines. - Satchel Paige
~~~~~~~ SPECIAL THOUGHTS:

First Corinthians 13 - Christmas Version
If I decorate my house perfectly with plaid bows
Strands of twinkling lights and shiny balls,
But do not show love to my family,
I'm just another decorator.

If I slave away in the kitchen baking dozens of Christmas cookies,
Preparing gourmet meals and arranging a beautifully adorned table at mealtime,
But do not show love to my family,
I'm just another cook.

If I work at the soup kitchen, carol in the nursing homes
And give all that I have to charity,
But do not show love to my family,
It profits me nothing.

If I trim the spruce with shimmering angels and crocheted snowflakes,
Attend a myriad of holiday parties, and sing in the choir's cantata,
But do not focus on Christ,
I have missed the point.

Love stops the cooking to hug the child.
Love sets aside the decorating to kiss the spouse.
Love is kind, though harried and tired.
Love doesn't envy another's house
That has coordinated Christmas china and table linens.

Love doesn't yell at the kids to get out of the way,
But is thankful they are there to be in the way.
Love doesn't give only to those who are able to give in return,
But rejoices in giving to those who can't.

Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails.

Video games will break, pearl necklaces will be lost, golf clubs will rust
But the gift of love will endure.

~~~~~~~ TRIVIA:
Battling A Porn Addiction
Q. I love my wife. I know it hurts her when I look at porn, but, I've become addicted. I'm getting counseling, but I know the temptation will still be there. What is the best blocking software that will still allow for normal web surfing? Any help you can give will not only be appreciated but will also be very important.
A. You are making progress to overcome this addiction. That is, you have admitted that it is causing a problem in your life and your family. You're not alone. Online porn is big business and they do what they can and spend lots of money to grab you and others.
There are a number of programs that filter Internet content.
They are intended for children. You could try one of these, but here's the deal. If you install this type of program, you will easily know how to get around them. So, perhaps your wife can set up the software on your computer.
Three good ones are CyberPatrol, CyberSitter and NetNanny. They cost less than $40. All have free trials, so you can take each for a test drive before you buy. You'll find them at, respectively:
http://www.cyberpatrol.com/
http://www.cybersitter.com/
http://www.netnanny.com/
Both America Online and MSN offer ways to limit access to the Internet's darker side. Like the filtering software, you might want to have your wife set up the account. This way, you do not have any of the passwords. While these controls are meant primarily for children, you would not be able to go to certain Web sites.
You could also use an Internet Service Provider that does filtering.
If you need something more adult, check out accountability software.
One such program is X3watch, which is offered by XXXchurch.com, a ministry that battles online pornography. With this program, you designate an accountability partner. X3watch makes a record of any questionable sites you visit, then e-mails the list to your accountability partner. It also makes a note if you close the program.
X3watch is free. You can get it at: http://www.x3watch.com/
An accountability program also is provided by Promise Keepers, a group dedicated to helping men grow as Christians. Eye Promise is $6.95 per month. Like X3watch, it e-mails a list of Web sites visited to a partner. It's available at: http://www.promisekeepers.org/resc130
XXXchurch.com is run by two young ministers who march to their own drummer. They offer numerous tools to battle pornography addiction.
Included is a month-long series of workshops, called 30 Days to Purity, that you can take online. There also is a toll-free number:
1-888-309-4218. You can check out the XXXchurch at:
http://www.xxxchurch.com/
Here are some additional Web sites for you to check out for help in your recovery. Dr. Carnes information will be especially helpful for your wife.
Like any addiction, it's not going to be easy to overcome but YOU can do it! Be strong. Have faith. And when you think you might be weak, seek support of your family and friends.
I really hope that I helped you today. See you tomorrow!
