~~~~~~~ SPECIAL THOUGHTS:
Everyone Needs Appreciation
Although you may have missed her, actress Kathy Bates played the vital role roles of heiress Molly Brown in the recent [1998] movie TITANIC.
Bates became known as the "mom" to the crew and became known as well as one who continually encouraged the crew and cast. Bates told a story in a recent interview to explain her perspective.
"There's a great story I always remember when I think about crews and directors. There was a guest conductor who was rude to everyone in the symphony. Everyone hated him. Finally, at the packed dress rehearsal, he lifts his arms and nothing happens. Not a sound. He's stunned. He draws himself up and gives the down beat again. No sound. Finally, the first-chair violinist stands up and says, 'That's just to show you that no sound comes out of that baton of yours.' I always think about that when I am making a movie."
~~~~~~~ THIS & THAT:

The Wit And Wisdom Of Gerald Rudolph Ford

"A government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take from you everything you have."

"I am a Ford, not a Lincoln."

"I am acutely aware that you have not elected me as your President by your ballots, so I ask you to confirm me with your prayers."

"I had a lot of experience with people smarter than I am."

"I know that I am getting better at golf because I am hitting fewer spectators."

"Truth is the glue that holds government together. Compromise is the oil that makes governments go."

"When a man is asked to make a speech, the first thing he has to decide is what to say."

"I love sports. Whenever I can, I always watch the Detroit Tigers on the radio."

"Things are more like today than they have ever been before."

"It's the quality of the ordinary, the straight, the square, that accounts for the great stability and success of our nation. It's a quality to be proud of. But it's a quality that many people seem to have neglected."

~~~~~~~ KEEP SMILING:
My friend's husband is a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and she often wondered how his job would affect their children's outlook on life. She had her answer when her son brought his health quiz home from school with all but one question answered correctly.
The question: Name the three main parts of the cell.
His answer: the bars, the keys and the mattress.
~~~~~~~ TRIVIA:

Last month, the most expensive piece of property ever bought was purchased near Victoria Peak on Hongkong Island. The buyer, one of the developers here, paid HK dollars $42,196 (US $ 5,480) per square foot for the lot. It will be developed as residential property. Estimates are that when finished the price of the apartments will range in the vicinity $50,000 - $60,000K per square foot (USD $6,400-$7,800).

At those prices I could not even afford to buy the space needed on which to put a bed! The high-end of the market is doing very well at present, I'd say.
