The movie Back to the Future, Part II came out in 1987. In it, the bully, named Biff, stole the time machine by which he transported himself to the future, bought a sports almanac and took it back to the present year with him, ostensibly to bet the line on upcoming sports events and become extremely wealthy. While reading the almanac, he says "Florida wins the 1997 world series." At the time Florida did not even have a team. ... Last year, the Florida Marlins won the 1997 World Series.
